Safura

Safura Yaakob is a beautiful Malay singer. She also acted in few local dramas. She plays Rokiah, the 'Ronggeng Queen' in theatre 'Ronggeng Rokiah' (2003) directed by Dr. Anuar Nor Arai. She married three times. Her second husband was singer Hairie from Malay group Kool. In 2005, she married for a third time to actor Shahrolnizam.

Safura Yaacob was nominated as the Best New Artiste in the 5th AIM (Anugerah Industri Muzik) 1998 together with Arni Nazira, Camelia, Liza Hanim and Noryn Aziz. She lost to Camelia. In the same event, she was also nominated for the Best Female Vocal in a final group comprises of Camelia, Ning Baizura, Ziana Zain and Siti Nurhaliza. Again, she lost to Camelia.

Safura Yaacob drops her 10 years old defamation charges againts Ifa Raziah recently. Attorney Nicholas Netto who represents Safura says that his client retract the appeal for the defamation charges that was made 5 years ago. Ifa Raziah was charged for defaming Safura in two articles in an entertainment magazine in year 1998. Ifa Raziah, or her real name Saripah Raziah Mustapa, 33, was very pleased with the result of the case, and it’s finally over. Ifa Raziah hopes that her relationship with Safura, a famous actress nowadays would be better in the future. If Safura won the case, she will have a RM500,000 compensation from Ifa Raziah, who were claimed to be telling the media that she was sick because of Safura wrongdoings.
